The teacher's role towards Bullying

Bullying began in Europe in the 80's and it's characterized for the study of the game among young people. (when the healthy game starts to be agressive). It can happen or not inside the school and it can be physical or oral.
Teachers and parents must be attentive to the children's symptoms. Symptoms include school phobia, when the child is afraid to go school and constantly comes up with an excuse for not going to school. Social phobia or pathological shyness, characterized for the child's fear of being rejected or sofer a negative avalluation from some specific groups; And other factors as excessive anxiety, depression, anorexia and bulimia.
When a teachers see a situation like that when children victim for the persecution and, most of the times, physical agressions from another student, they must aware the children about the importance of respect and that they have their rights and always reassure children. Teachers must be the mediator between friendship and partnership. They have to play the ethic role, using the dialog and justice.
To Vygotsky, the educative process is compound of student, teacher and environment and they must be in constant conexion. His social-cultural theory helps the young's learning. This theory also confirms itself in the Zone of Proximal Development, which there is a necessity of the teacher act together with the student. To him, the culture shapes the psychological functioning of the man, because the knowledge is acquired through the social interaction.

Education through the life

The were 6 International Conferences of Education of Adults so far. The first one was in 1949 in Denmark; the second happened in 1960 in Montreal, Canada; the third was in Japan in the year of 1972; the fourth in 1985 was performed in Paris, France. In 1997 there was another one in Germany and the most recent one happend here, in Brazil.
The VI International Conference of Education of Adults happened in december of 2009 in Belém. The effort that it represents explains itself in the improviment of the access of the process of quality education to the learning of young and adults and in the strengthening of the right to education through the life for everyone. But for the theory becomes real is needed that exists a monitoring for the responsables part. The Conference affirmed that the learning through the life consists in "a filosophy, a conceptual mark and an organization from all ways of education, based in inclusive values, humanistics and democratics, being wide and part of a society knowledge vision".
However, there is a dichotomy in the camp - on one side the Europe and The USA affirm that Education through the life is the permanent training of human resources to the labor market, on the other side, it's Africa, which believes that education through the life is the literacy, because it is the base of everything. - which makes it difficult to define only one concept of education through the life.

Pedagogy of the oppressed

In the uncontrollable willing for the possession, the oppressors develop in themselves the conviction that it is possible to transform everything in just buying. Then the explanation for the materialism. The money is the solution for everything. And for that happens, the oppressed ones starts to have less than they had before or worse, the starts to have nothing. When they realise how good the "upper class" has been living, the oppressed now starts to copy and follow them. Being one of the characteristics the devaluation of themselves. They feel less inteligents and important than the known "doctors". Some just don't get used with the idea that they are lazy to do and/or learn something, they strongly believe that they have been explored. But the problem is that they don't fight and not even trust in themselves.
That's why pedagogy of the oppressed - according to Paulo Freire - is a pedagogy that must be done with the oppressed people and not for them. To fight for recovery of humanity. This pedagogy makes the oppression itself and its causes, objects of reflection of the oppressed in a search for the freedom.

study, study, study

As I said in my last post here, when I started working in a area that I liked I went to the university. Thank God it is a public one, because I don't have conditions to pay a private university, once that most if them have full day courses and I get impossible to work. But if I didn't have passed, I would or keep trying to get into one or work harder and begin to study some years later. I know that it is difficult to pass in a public university, mainly because - in my opinion - the process is selective and always never benefits who have been studying for a long time. Also because many people get nervous or for some reason, lose the tests and automaticaly loses the opportunity of study for free. But what people don't know this is the only positive point in theses universities, because the name isn't the most important thing when you look for a job - what counts is your experience, willing of learning and others. Some believe that the education is better, but it isn't. Some don't even have professors and/or equipaments. Of course it happens in private universities too. But what I'm just saying is that it doesn't matter what you want for your life or where you graduate, but how knowledge you have acquired and how you can transform all your theories in practices and how you can contribute for the company that you are working for. And the only way to get there is studying!

What do you want to be when you grow up?

Most of people had already answered this question at least once in lifetime. But, different for some who always had known what to do with their lives, I never knew - and I think I still don't know. My sister, since she was about her 10's, she wanted to be a dentist and now I cannot see no other better example of a person who really knows what career is going to take than she. I wanted to be a chemist, then I thought about being an architect. After that I decided to become a guide tourist but ironically I turned into a teacher. Me. A person with no many, how am I gonna say this? hmm.. let me put this way: A person with no patient at all! Yes, I have to assume. I really don't have it. But in my situation, that was the only possibility for me. I had just graduated high school with no job expierences and/or a course which gave me some kind of qualification, such as telemarketing, sales, nothing! I didn't have anything! The only thing that I knew was one language: English. I had no other option, so I used it. I used it as a way to make money - thank God. But more than that. I liked it. I liked teaching, sharing informations - it's unbelievable how you learn while you are teaching -, having flexibility of time, being always in contact with the language, etc. So I decided to keep going trough this way. I entered in the University of State of Rio de Janeiro and started to learn Pedagogy. After 4 months in the company that I was working I became the coordinator of languages. But I kept studying - a piece of advice if you let me: Do not ever let yourself get lazy!
I took Cambridge Esol Examinations, which is very good for lots of reason, one day I'll post only about it. I saved some money and finally travelled abroad where I learnt so many things that I would never be able to learn inside of a classroom and now I know after so many doubts in life that I was born to be forever in a school teaching and at the same time, learning, because the knowledge doesn't have an end. And as Guimarães Rosa once said: "Mester is the one that suddenly learns."
Maybe one day I give up this job, maybe someday I get sick of dealing with children - that what my degree is for - or get sick of dealing with adults - They are the majority in languages courses. Maybe someday I change my career and maybe I just fall more in love than I am now for the education.
And that's what I wanted to share in my first post here: The options that you have. But it doesn't matter how hard you try to get away from your gift, it will pull you into it when you won't expect, just like happened to me. But if you still don't know what to do, don't worry. The most interest people that I know only figured out what to do with their lives after their 20's and some still don't know. And like the title of  this blogger says, if there isn't a way that pleases you, build one that does, don't keep waiting until a perfect one appears in front you. Just build it.
